It takes patience what I suggest is that you go to the agencies with basic shots from a polaroid of your face and a full body shot.Any agency will tell you you dont need a professional portfolio and when you get in they will take test shots of you.Google a few of these modeling agencies and see if they have any local offices where you live.

Be patient, any career takes time to kick start. Just keep being persistent with agencies, if they see that you're keen then they'll be more likely to hire you. By the sounds of it you've only been pursuing this for a few weeks, months maybe. Get a regular job in the meantime (if you haven't already), work hard and keep building your CV. At the end of the day they don't just want someone attractive, they want someone reliable who will work hard for them and sell clothes!

There are so many people wanting to become models that you really have to make yourself stand out to be noticed. Talk with a modeling agency or talent agent to see if there's something else you can do. Don't just send pictures; arrange an appointment to talk to them face to face.
Hope this helps!

Don't give up on your dream. This industry is very difficult to get in to and it can be easy to get into the wrong type of modelling, so be safe and make sure your fully aware of who your dealing with and take a friend if you go along to any agency's for support.

Make a myspace page, with your model shots and make it known that you are a freelance model. Make a website with your model shots like your full name.com. Go to every open call you know of, and although I know you said you sent pictures to a few agencies, why don't you try to actually go to them with your portfolio. Get out there and market yourself.

It's quite possible you are gorgeous and model material, but I would not advise this for you as a career. Modelling often entails a lifestyle full of drugs, alcohol, sleeping around with a lot of people and tremendous burnout. Do you have other talents you can focus on - singing, acting, dancing, art, music?

I read that lots of the famous models are scouted at the Clothes Show every year. Apparently that's the place to be discovered. I think it's this month, maybe google it? Good luck and hope you make it x x

Keep going. Don't stop just because a few agencies haven't called back. How easy to you think it was for today's models to get in? You think they just had to send in their picture once and they were in? No, a few of them tried for possibly months or even years to get in. Keep moving on and you'll eventually get in. Good Luck!! :) Oh, and PLEASE don't get all twigy...It's really gross.
