The Romans called our moon Luna and the Ancient Greeks called it Selene or Artemis. We just don't use these ancient names any more.
If you think about it, why is our planet the only one that isn't named after a figure from ancient mythology, eg Jupiter, Venus, etc.

Our moon is greater regarding time than an suggested physique. it quite is the 1st watch or time piece that people used to maintain music of months. The call is regarding this theory and the call 'Moon' IS the satellite tv for pc's call. All different moons are of lesser magnitude to us as they have not any impression on our planet. an analogous could be suggested for the solar. paradoxically, we handle and consult with different infants by making use of their given names yet our own by making use of endearments like 'the toddler', son, chum, and so on. we are intimate with the solar and moon so we use an intimate call no longer a technical call.

What do you mean our moon has no name? Our moon was named by those very intelligent Americans who don't know their way out of their own town, let alone across space. They gave it the best name they could under the circumstances, they called it "The Moon". The words American Intelligence should never be used together in the same sentence.

Because it is the only moon orbiting the Earth, so there is no need to distinguish it from another moon.
Other planets like Jupiter have lots of moons, so they all need names to distinguish one from another.

because our earth's satellite is called the "moon" and all the other satellites are just referred to as "moons" to make it easier for us to understand.
moon is the name of our moon :)
