Ditto what Walter said -- Are we talking about Franco's Spain -- or Inquisition -- or??? and what actions are we "pushing" or "pulling" to/from?
If you ask a good question you have a fighting chance of getting a good answer.
I fear that you've put so little efforts into your homework (and this smells like homework) that you don't have a clue yourself.

Are you refering to the Reconquest, the Golden Age, the Bourbon era, the Spanish Republic, Franco's Spain or post-Franco Spain? Geez, could you be any more vague?
