All of the Windows tabs such as the bottom task/startmenu, right-click menu, task bar on top of programs, etc are all blacked out, including the text. I can't see what I'm doing at all. Help!

Also, I can't see any text in the control panel/my computer as well.

first rule of info technology, reboot, if still a problem and you are using xp try system restore, go back to a date before the problem started

press the windows key and then log off, then log off again. or push the power button on the PC. if none of the above works hold the power button on the PC for about 10 seconds and PC will shut off
