Sprinkle some Boric Acid (found at most drug stores, hardware stores, or grocery stores, near the bug sprays, ant bait/roach traps, etc.) on the carpets & rub it into the carpet with a broom. Let it sit for a few minutes, and then vaccum...
And of course, if he has cats or dogs, i highly recommend getting some Frontline, Advantage, or the like, from the vet (not from the store), to put on the animals. That stuff works great! Many vets will sell it to you without having to take your pet in for an examination...they just need to know how much the dog/cat weighs, as long as the animal is healthy & has had no medical problems, so call around.
Hint: To weigh your dog/cat, if you have a regular bathroom scale at home:
1) pick up your dog/cat and step on the scale while holding the animal in your arms, & jot down how much you both weigh together.
2) Then simply subtract how much you weigh by yourself...
The diffrence between the two weights is how much the animal weighs. - Good luck! Hope that helps. :)

Have a flea market and sell them or stand in the front yard and say come here flea. lol

Seriously the insect bomb that has been recommended is your best bet. Make sure that your pets are out of the house, cover fish tanks and any thing else that might be harmed. Set the bomb off as directed and get out.

Good luck

De-bug all the critters with Frontline flea and tick. Then bomb the house. Otherwise, the fleas will seek out your legs for their next meal. Word to the wise, fleas can transmit Lyme disease so get rid of them.

Good old fashion TABLE SALT!!! Buy several containers and sprinkle everyday on your carpets. Leave on for about 1/2 hour or so. Or sprinkle on before you go to work (as long as no one is home) Vacuum up and be sure to empty your vacuum daily!! It might take a little bit (a week or so) to get them gone. Have patience. Salt is a natural drying agent. Fleas will not tolerate it.
It's very cheap and highly effective. My grandmother used it and salt was always available cheap.
