I know what you mean. Female-fronted bands automatically are all similar to each other despite the rest of the music, right? It makes perfect sense!
I can't really think of a similar U.S. band. Kamelot, maybe, but not really and they have a guy singer anyway. Dark Moor and Epica are closer, but they're from Spain and the Netherlands, respectively.
