Money - it's the only thing that's really worth collecting!

It depends on why you want to collect. Do you want to collect as an investment, or is it just because you want to. In either case the general answer is; collect what you like. There are thousands of things that can be considered collectibles. Most will not make you money, and even when collecting things that have monetary value, you still must be shrewd and knowledgeable. I collect antique things simply for the sake of collecting. My main focus is cameras. I have at least forty, and only three or so are worth anything substantial. But I am an avid amateur photographer, and I find cameras to be interesting art objects. I display them all over the place. Visitors find them fascinating as well. So start with what you like. Hey, if you choose something unusual that you are passionate about, you might even set a new trend with your decision. One never knows. Make it fun!!!

Take a look at your interest and build from there. If you enjoy reading, collect books, traveling -- different post cards. Find the things that are special to you.

Best long-term investment in the world today and since collecting became profitable is coins. When times are bad the price of coins goes up. When times are good, if you have a really rare coin the price goes up. Coins never go down in value. In 1995 if you bought a superb diamond mint 1995 Walking Liberty Silver dollar with the mint mark of "W'' it is worth somewhere in the vicinity of $4000.00 today. Because it is a rarity and was the first coin to be minted at the West Point Mint in 200 years. I have two of them.
