Speculation has it that there would be major tsunamis, flooding, earthquakes..., super-storms, people would freak, killing more people in a panic than the disasters could all together, dogs and cats, living together..., pretty much Bible proportionate disasters.
Okay - I guess the dog and cats thing was a bit much, but I've been dying to use that line ever since I heard it on Ghost Busters.

Interesting question. I don't know the answer, but I know the moon has an effect on the tides, so I suppose that would be pretty catastrophic.
It would also be really dark at night!

It would have an effect on the the tides and the Earth would wobble. The Moon has a stabilizing effect on us. if we lost it we'd wobble more, greatly effecting the seasons. So if you are planning on destroying it I'd appreciate it if you'd stop.

Moon-chunks crash into the land and sea, creating massive tidal waves, nuclear winter from the dust thrown into the atmosphere, and flattening continents.
DARTH VADER, IS THAT YOU??? Because it would be much more energy-efficient to target the Death Star on Earth...

nicely we would want to actual all die. i don't sense like telling you why because there is not any longer purely the outcomes from the raining moon rocks, yet to boot the inability of the moon. Humanity does no longer proceed to exist.

itll be more dark at night and those tides that 6 year olds play with will be gone. i dont think much will happen unless one of the pieces fly towards earth, which is kind of likely.

Depends on the reason for it. Earth may suffer the same fate.
