1) Turn off all water supplied to the the structure
2) Drain all water from pipes ( Using a wet vac works real well
3) Antifreeze in the toilet and tanks, also in all drains.
they have RV antifreeze that won't hurt anything
4) Turn off water heater and drain it also.
5 ) Leave all faucets and fixtures on.
6) Make sure all pipes are covered none exposed pipes seldom freeze.
Hope this helps.

one advice. if is not a wooden cabin you have but a finished house with gypsum or plaster wall you gonna must likely ruin these material by not heating the house. there chance of mildew forming and humidity damage. paying couple dollars in heat to keep house around 10 degree celcius is a good investement. not counting the day you save winterizing the house and the material used. emptying a water heater will make the internal tank to rust. also unpluging a water heater can cause bacteria to form in the tank even if you empty it as there always water remain in the tanks.

i know it's not what you want to ear but think about it. did you ever go a an abandoned house? why do you think they deteriorate so fast...
