Firstly HP hates it when people refill their cartridges. Printing companies really get most of their money from customers paying for ink over the lifetime of the printer

I currently own a HP 1210 which is fairly similar to the 1315. All HP printer ink (even new ones) say "intended for single use only". The only difference from the the HP ink cartridge that comes with the printer and a new HP ink cartridge is that the one that comes with your printer is only half full (if that).

So to answer your question. Yes you can refill it. Although if you were to call HP and ask one of their sales representatives (as I have done in the past) on the phone they will tell you not to. They will say that over time it will decrease the quality of your printing.

That may or may not be true. I would at least recommend you do not refill the same cartridge over and over and over. That can potentially lead printing problems.
