Culture is a particular form or stage of civilization, as that of a certain nation or period. Civilization is an advance state of human society, in which a high level of culture, science, industry, and government has been reached.

I think civilization arises from the need and convenience of living in groups and having specialized roles within the group. Culture comes as a result of common practices, as in rituals, and becomes high culture as leisure time increases.

In my opinion, culture gives rise to civilization. First you have your cultural ways that organizes the community, then give rise to rituals handed down to the descendents, thus civilizations is born!!!

For me, a civilisation is how a group of people is organised. Culture is what it does.

Incidentally, to the Romans, "civilised" simply meant "living in towns",
