Wellll.... To set the story straight...no.
George had originally wrote a backstory to most of what we now know as episodes 1-6. The backstory included a lot of conjecture of where these characters would start out and eventually end up. He has stated that there probably was enough to do 9 movies but that he was never interested in doing 6 much less 9 films. Now that the films are finished there is an animated show in the works for late 2007 or 2008 placed between episodes 2-3 (or before Revenge of the SIth) and a live action TV series slated for "the end of the decade" that will cover the time between Revenge of the Sith (Ep. 3) and Star Wars (Ep. 4).
If indeed there is a new "movie" or "film" it will be without George but probably with his blessing...but don't count on it being made.
For more Star Wars goodness check out the Extended Universe novels! They are awesome and continue the story of Luke, Leia, Han and...kids!!!!!! You can find a timeline of where to start at theforce.net.

When Lucas wrote the screenplay for Star Wars, the whole thing was just too big for one movie, so he split it into 6 different stories and pitched them all. The company decided to make one, the fourth story in the series because it was the most simple, and also the best for the time the movie was to be made. Then, as you all know, he went on to make the other 5 movies. The last three stories in the Star Wars saga are the only LICENSED books that are written by anyone other than George Lucas. Timothy Zahn wrote "Dark Force Rising" as the first of his trilogy. It takes place about 10 or 15 years after the end of Return of the Jedi. I am not exactly sure if they will make them into any feature films, but I would not hold my breath.

the original concept by George Lucas was to make three trilogies, starting with the middle trilogy, now known as A New Hope, The Empire Strikes Back and Return Of The Jedi. Second trilogy was preceeding the first and the final trilogy was to be events AFTER the first trilogy. However, as the last three films were nowhere near as successful as the original three, it is not certain that the final trilogy will be made. On the positive side is the fact that a lot of Star Wars fans still exist and they are marketable films.

Its interesting to hear about another set of Star Wars movies. Where would they start? Most of the main story has been told already surrounding Darth Vader's rise to power as a powerful Sith Lord to finally "expressing the good" in him at his deathbed.
George Lucas needs to focus on Indiana Jones 4. He has said many times that he is going to get that out after finishing Episode 3.

Fortunately, no.
George Lucas has made it clear there will be no more Star Wars movies, but he is thinking of developing a TV series.

I had heard that there wouldn't be, but it was supposed to be a trilogy of trilogies, the ultimate film sage, so it would be a shame if they didn't makee more. One of the plots in one of these propose films revolved around teh antagonistic relationship between Luke Skywalker and the snowbeast whose arem Luke chopped off.

no but George Lucas was planning on making nine movies before he finished the second three but he decided not to because he thought that enough has been explained.

No.
There will, however, be a miniseries set between the events of episodes 2 and 3...
As if we haven't suffered enough.

That would be cool, but I don't think Mr. Lucas is going to. Last I heard, I think he wants to do little artsy films now that most of us may probably never see.
