Depends on the mood of the class you are taking - is it light or serious? Some of mine that are memorable:

Most embarassing moment
Favorite author (tv show, movie, band, singer, etc)
Your opinion on (whatever you have a strong opinion on)
Discuss something you collect or create

Be creative, think about your audience, but relax and have fun - no matter what your topic. Make sure you know what you're talking about and you'll be great!

Talk about how you asked "Yahoo Answers" for the topic and put all our ideas into one speech. You may get an 'f' for content, but it you speak clearly and in an entertaining fashion, you could get a good grade

vacation you have taken, how to do something (make a cake, etc..did this in speech), what you want to do career wise and why..who and why did you get interested in this. If you have a husband or kids (didn't say if you were in college or hs) talk about what it's like to be a wife or mother.

I agree with answer number one. Always remember to focus on yourself, your own breathing, and your own thoughts when public speaking. Avoid focusing on the crowd or who you're speaking to. Focus on your hand gestures, what you want to say, and your breath.
