evening all,

doing some research for a project on change of use of buildings in nottingham i know that where the llyods and fitness first and jongleurs building is used to be called british waterways and before that the trent navigation co but can anyone tell me when the building was built please

i would be really impressed if someone could tell me

i go 2 fitness first gym ,someone jumped out ov there window a week ago she was only marrid 2 months..sorry idont know ur answer

Hmm... It looks like it was built around 1870. I bet it has a plaque near it somewhere with the year on. The canal was opened in 1796 and closed in 1937 so it has to be between these dates.


I would go to the "Caves of Nottingham" in Broadmarsh centre as the caves were the earliest habitations in Nottingham. Also the Castle has some good history about local buildings and the Brewhouse museum.
The costume museum used to be the council office, and the garden opposite was the first place in the UK where celery was grown. That wood-framed lace shop used to be 50 yards up the road and was moved piece by piece.
