Write a letter to the administration department in the prison and request the records of your father. Call the prison, or write a letter to the warden of the prison. They should be able to assist you in your search. You can get the address of the prison by doing a search on-line of the prison. Good luck and God bless****

Find out what court sentenced him and go to that court house and look up the records. Some states have Department of Corrections online so you could see what he was sentenced for.
