God doesn't care how you dance. He doesn't care what you eat, or what you sing, or how you dress. If there is a God, He only cares about what is in your heart. Stop stressing.

I think youll be okay as long as you are comfortable with yourself.....I love dancing too. every time a knew song comes on I start choragraphing in my head sometimes I actully do it. I dance Latin. The way to deal with it - if you think the move is too dirty, then it is too dirty, don't dance it if you don't enjoy it. That is, the standards are set by you. There are plenty of other moves that still look sexy but won't make you uncomfortable. I don't think you can take a list of dance moves and ask God to check them off for you - which ones are OK, whick ones are not OK. God loves you for what you are - His creation. You decide what's good and what's bad, it's in your head and in your heart.
One more thing: if you are a nun, then you are no longer part of this world, you really have to think about serving God before you do anything else. You probably shouldn't dance anything other than religious dance. But if you are not a nun than you don't have this restriction.

I am a Christian who enjoys dancing. Just as with anything else, one needs to exercise balance and self control. God gave us creativity and a love of music. Some have used this in a way that dishonors their Creator. A beautiful home stays that way by being kept clean. Our creative expressions should be clean in the sight our God. That is, they should not glorify or encourage such things as murder, sexual immorality, or covetousness. Keep these things in mind when deciding if a certain dance style or move is appropriate.

To understand why we dance may help you,
There are many dances for many different reasons from many different cultures, to dance hip hop is provocative, to some cultures,
but not to others, to dance in a provocative way is to attract attention to yourself, if you are dancing a provocative dance with a partner then it is thier attention that you should be seeking.
The conglomeration of different styles from different cultures send out the wrong signals to the watching, if you are living in a multicultural society then you need to take care on which dance you choose, modern dancing can be exhibitionist dream, with no sexual undertones, its only your attire that invites the voyeur.

Personally, as a Christian, I think all forms of dance are acceptable because they can all be danced without being sexual; however, there are some forms, like hip-hop, Latin, etc., that are usually danced very sexually. As I said, they can be danced without being sexual, but if you have a hard time avoiding sexual moves, you want to stay away from them.

I am Catholic, and I always dance hip hop. I love it, and it's the best way of dancing to me. I always think that there is no other dancing like hip hop, but if you'd like to change, take my advice. If you'd like to please God, hip hop isn't all that bad, unless you're dancing dirty. Take some hip hop classes, and you'll see what i mean. There are other ways to dance. when you hear good music, just go with the flow. Move you're body as you wish, just not dirty. You'll know what to do.

As a Christian, it's really hard to live in this society...there are soooo many things that are popular but you don't know if you should do them because they do not please God. In my opinion, there are some types of hiphop that are moderate and you can do, but most of the types you should not do. things like belly dancing and all this is something i would NOT recommend doing; not only because you are a christian but also because you need to be a light to non christians as well. The Bible says that we should be a light to the world! a city on a hill that cannot be hidden. we need to show the world that we can have fun, but also that we can have the right kind of fun!

In the Bible it tells Christians not to be "lascivious." Which by definition is:
1. inclined to lustfulness; wanton; lewd: a lascivious, girl-chasing old man.
2. arousing sexual desire: lascivious photographs.
3. indicating sexual interest or expressive of lust or lewdness: a lascivious gesture.
If by dancing hip-hop you are "inclined to lustfullness", "arouse sexual desire", or "indicate sexual interest or express lust or lewdness", then you are being lascivious, which is expressly forbidden by the inspired words of the Bible.
Verses showing us this are found in Galations 5:19-20 for example. I might also point out Romans 14:23 where it speaks about not doing things that bother your conscience. "...and everything that does not come from faith is sin." If you're wondeirng whether or not it is right, then you probably shouldn't be doing it... But props for having the courage to tackle such a difficult subject that is highly prevalent in today's society!
Best Wishes!

As a christian and a hip-hop,jazz,tap, and ballet dancer, all styles are fine with god unless your not comfy with them. He wants you to do what you want. You don't always have to do the iffy movements.
