I used this website, and want to know how to cite an essay (i.e. "A Hanging") using MLA format

I would suggest using this format, since it is a work that most likely was published in a book but you found on a database. Look on the website I cited at the end for use of italics.

You include all the information you have like the author, title, publisher, and date of publication--and include the website address as you have printed it above. For more information check out bedhandbook.com.

They will have you enter the info and then set it up for citation and your work's cited page. They have MLA, APA and Chicago style citation.

If it's been published, go ahead and cite it as a journal publication. The fact that you read it online is inconsequential.

if it is an intext citation you just put the name of the author of the article in parenthesis right after the quote and put a period after it. it is included in your sentence. but its just a works cited page that you need go to citationmachine.net works everytime!
