I'm thinking of getting a family console and I figure that Wii is the best choice out there. Do they have any titles out yet that we can enjoy as a family? What would be good for two small boys?

The Wii is deffinetly a good family console. Nintendo's strategy is for it to have games for people of all ages, as they have always done, but maybe with a little more emphasis on more relaxing puzzle and classic style games that you might like after the kids go to bed.

Two is a bit young to be able to handle the controls, infact you might see if you can find a demonstration to see what you think. However, anyone who breaks a TV or Window is not only using the controler completely improperly in the first place, but they're ignoring the wrist strap Nintendo put there for just such an occasion.

Honestly, the controls I think might be too difficult for kids that young, you might wait till next year. There are a lot of buttons that are all white and not very distinct from eachother, which can be confusing, and much of any games are based on small wrist snaps and shaking of the controlers which I would imagine could be a difficult concept for children that age.

V-Tech has a wide variety of education based video games with far simpler controls, you might check those out as well. They're not exactly a 'Family Console' but the Wii will be around next year, too.

But, should you opt to go with the Wii this year, it is a console that would grow with your children.

I'm 33 and a father of 3 and I was in the video game stores deciding on which of the "big 3" (Playstation 3, XBOX, and Wii) I was going to get the family for Christmas. If its family gaming you are looking for, than I think the Wii is the better choice. Its a bit more interactive with the control system. It's technical capabilities aren't as good as that of the other two systems, which I'd reccomend if you are a hardcore gamer. After looking at all three systems, I chose the Wii as it seems to be marketed toward family gaming. It's cheaper too. Some family titles include: Rayman, Monkey Ball, Zelda...and of course it won't be long for another Super Mario title I'm sure.

Absolutely. It would probably be good for you, too. The system comes with Wii Sports, the perfect family title to break in your Wii.

From what I have heard, the uncontrolable use of the controlers or remotes for the Wii are causing people to lose control of them and they are breaking windows and t.v.s.......so I would say no if they are only 2 and 4 years of age.

Yeah the Wii would be great, their are a whole bunch of games that are aimed especially for kids that age. The only problem might be for kids that young it might be kind of hard because of the controls, especially for the 2 yr. old.
