Music bought from the iTunes music store can only be played on an iPod, you can play them on your computer but not on your non iPod mp3 player.

However you can buy music from the iTunes music store, burn a CD of the music you bought, rip the CD of burned music into mp3 and then place it on your non iPod mp3 player, there will be a slight loss of audio quality but not too much.
