ok.. guys keep calling me emo because of the music i listen to.... blink182, all american rejects, good charllett, simple plan and stuff like that. I don't were make up. I were clothes from american eagle and pacson. I dont even have an emo haircut its redish and curly! how can i be emo??!!

The same thing happens to me. I like emo music but i don't wear skinnys or any other 'emo' trend. But the way people discriminate others if they dress or act differently is a sign of immaturity. Whoever is saying this isn't your friend, ditch them and find some better ones!
Thats what i did and now i'm happy!

Your NOT! My roomate is emo! So trust me your not. An emo kid listens to Copeland, Dashboard Confessional, Death Cab for Cutie...Ask yourself if you listen to bands like that. Also ask yourself if you have dark hair thats in you eyes, if you cry when you listen to songs and cry about your life all the time, act depressed. If you answer no to all those questions then your not emo. It sounds to me from the way you described yourself that you are just your all american, southern california type of girl.

i dont think your emo--do you only talk about death and sucide all day? emo is not a style its a lifestyle. i wear clothes from american eagle and listen to the same bands..i am NOT emo..those kids are loosers if you shop at hollister,pacsun,abercrombie,american eagle your a prep not an emo :)

emo is such a dumb concept because people think you are emo because of the music you listen to or the clothes you wear. It reall bugs me. Emo means emotional and distraught. If you are emotionally distraught, only then are you emo. I do not believe you are emo. Besides, what does it really matter?? Just do what you want.

hey i am like ur sister that u never knew. i have light brownish hair and i listen to aa(all american rejects), fall out boy, my chemical romance, and panic! at the disco. i wear regular and sometimes preppy clothes. people think i'm crazy but oh well. i guess we just both like lyrics that talk about more than just chains and chicken noodle soup n stuff. i don't think i'm emo. i don't think ur emo. hope it helps

The type of music you listen to does not classify who you are. I listen to some of those groups. I also listen to anything from classical to country to alternative. If what you listen to classifies you as a person then I must be really messed up. Labels all together suck. People are complicated and cannot be classified. We are all who we are and not what people think we are!

but at my school emo is expanded to mean anyone who cuts, constantly depressed, overtly cynical, even if they dont listen to emo music
for ex. casey your so emo today...(casey your so depressed/unhappy)
