Hardly anyone the UK had heard of it until you lot decided to pinch it off us!
After you invaded we all thought in was in Scotland!
But now that many a man died and got injured fighting for it, we must retain it as a British territory!

The Argentine will never be allowed to own the Falkland Islands. They are British and that's a fact. The UK and USA will destroy Argentina - wipe it off the map - if it makes any military move in the direction of the Falklands.

Why? Because Oil is there.

If you still do not believe that the USA will assist UK to keep the Falklands, think on this. One hundred years before Argentina invaded the Falkland Island, we had a similar dispute with the Argentine - the Americans dealt with the problem on our behalf and sent their Flagship the USS Lexington to the Falklands. The Lexington blew the Argentine navy out of the water. Remember this.

In c1900 when the British were kicked out of Argentina, they left that country more wealthy than the USA. What did you people do with the money? You squandered it on toy soldier armies and fancy uniforms and puffed out your chests.

Always remember this - for whatever you may think of the British, we are a nation made up of waring Germanic tribes. My own Nation of Wales have a hobby, they call it war. The British are aggressive and wild in war.

In July 2007, there is to be a big parade of Falklands War veterans. They will march up the Mall to Buckingham Palace where senior members of the Royal Family will take the salute. This is to mark the 25th anniversary of the Falklands War and our British victory.

My understanding is that the Brits found the Falklands and claimed them for themselves. There was no indigenous population, they have never belonged to Argentina so it is not a question of giving them back. The question is if there was no indigenous population, the current population want to remain UK citizens and they have never been Argentinean - how could they justifiably be handed over?

It should be a decision made by the Islanders - overwhelmingly, they want to stay where they are. The islands are as politically remote from Buenos Aires as they are geographically remote from London.

Why do Argentina want them? Pride? Lucrative markets - fishing, oil etc? Who knows.

I am amazed at the number of people who think the Falklands are cold barren useless lands, and I am not surprised that Argentina wanted them.
Don`t any of you know that oil has been discovered there? Everyone on the island is a share-holder and they will very very soon all be millionaires !

Having visited the Falklands and talked to many people there, I learnt that the want to stay British. They have the right to self determination and have determined to stay British. Even an ex-Argentinian conscript who stayed on after the war and married a local woman said he wanted to be British.
As for any so called moral case - Who are the Argentinians? Spanish invaders, who wiped out the indigenous population and took their land. Should they be rewarded for committing genocide

I think, when the people of the falklands wantto be part of your country then you should have them, until then they're british.

A perfect solution would be that they belonged to themselves and neither britain or argentina

A place fit only for sheep. As far as I'm concerned (I'm a Brit) you're welcome to it. Except - and here's the real clue to the problem, there might be off-shore oil. It's probably all to do with mineral rights. Sorry about that, but you did ask. By the way, I'm an ex-pat with no voting rights, so don't blame me. Buenos tardes!

I am very sad that we fought you over a piece of land.

I would like our nations to be friends.

There are a lot of good people in Argentina and a lot of loveable rogues!!

I would much rather be your friend than your enemy.
