Our mobile home is getting mold in the floorboards. How can we tell if it's the infamous "black mold?" What can we do about it?

you need to get the mold inspected and then find out what is causing it and get rid of what is causing it otherwise dont even have it inspected.

If you search the net you may be able to find a self test kit. If not, you can contact an enviromental services company or a home inspector certified in mold testing.

Unfortunately, you can't. You will need to have a professional test it. The good news is that there are hundreds of different types of mold that are not toxic. Check with your local health department and they should either be able to test it for you or recommend someone who can.

Once it starts I'd say "good luck" you just can't get it all and, I'm sure with the aluminum anodizing, the chemicals in the carpet, it's a black fungus and, very bad for you. Clean up, I've never seen it work. You can try bleach and Lysol and Lot's of prayers if it's your Mobile.
