Pay as you go. Contracts are crap.

Some PAYG are pretty good, but it all comes down to whether you intend to use the phone a lot AND whether you want to shell out a lot of wonga for the phone. From what you have said, the type of phone you are after is likely to be expensive on PAYG, so you may be better going on contract. You often get a free phone and, if you make sure you get anytime inclusive minutes as part of the package, you could be on to a winner. Vodafone are pretty good with packages and have the best coverage.

Do you use the phone a lot for voice and/or texting, if you do then you need contract, if only for casual use then PAYG. Also consider if you really need a new handset, if you do and it needs to meet the specifications given then this will be expensive to purchase, around £250, so perhaps better to get on contract, for around £25 a month get handset and free minutes/texts, total cost for year around £300, so voice and text only costing you around £50 for the year. Try 02, they have good coverage nationwide, and can offer latest handsets, with good choice of tariff, including some designed for talkers and some for texters.

i would say to get a contract, you can get a much better phone, usually 4 free! Also you never have to worry about running out of credit. I think generally people are scared of getting contract phones because of the horror stories that you here, but trust me if you go to the right phone shop & ur needs are fully understood then u will get the right tariff and network and you wont have anything to worry about.

Getting a contract is the better choice between the two.
