can anyone remember what it was called or who made it ?The set included ring blanks and pendant blanks and you would mix the coloured plastic and leave it to set. I can remember the smell quite clearly but am at a loss as to the name.

Just wanted to say that it wasn't Fimo (or any other brand of "polymer" clay) if it set just by sitting... polymer clays have to be cured in a home oven, etc., at about 275 degrees.

You're sure it wasn't something that needed to be heated first though?? Different colored pieces of Friendly Plastic can be mixed together once they're soft and will set up when cool.
Or did you mean that you mixed together two things to make the plastic itself as opposed to mixing colors??... sounds like some kind of 2-part epoxy, but don't think that's great to be handling with bare hands.

(If it was a solventy smell, it might be something that's since been taken off the market.)

I'm not overly familiar with it, but could it be Bakelite? I know it was popular around that time.
