A friendship of 12 years is something rare these days. Disputes arise, feelings get hurt, ways of life change. In my personal opinion, it would be a shame to not at least hear her out. Get together for coffee - talk about everything to clear the air. If you both can get past the topic that has bothered you both for two years, then you've really accomplished something. Move forward and I hope you two can again be best friends.

How important was your relationship with her? Do you believe she's sincere in her apology? If this was an important relationship in your life, don't you owe it to both you and her to at least meet for coffee? If things are too awkward or the things that made you friends in the first place are gone, you don't have to take up the friendship. If you meet, at least you'll know for sure how you feel.

A talk between the two of you would not be bad. The fact she apologized is huge. Most people never do that. As far as starting the friendship up again, I would judge it by this.....
As long as you have peace in your heart preceed but if you feel no peace or confusion then leave it alone.

If she is willing to take ths time out and be honest with you, give her a second chance. She obviously feels guilty about what she is doing and I think you should tell her that you would like to have the coffee and find out whats going ona dn why our friendship is REALLY taking it's toll.

Have coffee - you have nothing to lose. She aplogized and wants to be your friend. If you feel animosity towards here during or after the coffee let her know that you can't get over the problems and go your separate ways.

go and have a cup of coffee with her, it can do no more harm than she has already caused, and she may apologize and try to mend the fence and be your friend again... you never know ;)

What have you got to lose? Talk to her.
Doesn't sound like a major problem.
