There's not a lot you can do to attract the police's attention given the circumstances you described.
Most importantly, you should stay alive and uninjured. Your offender(s) will be very highly stressed and could react in a violent way to any sudden movement, threat or resistance from you. Don't do any of these and all you will lose is money, and you will recover quicker from that than from serious or fatal injury.
Your best weapon is your memory. Stay calm and co-operative and think to yourself that you will be describing what happened to a police officer in the very near future. Try and remember something about your attacker(s) that is unique, like a tattoo, scar, accent or something about clothing, such as a motif on a top or trainers. Look for earrings, odd teeth or rings, as any of these can identify someone individually. As soon as you can, write down somewhere as many details as you can, as this makes your evidence more difficult to challenge in subsequent court proceedings.

There is an urban myth circulating that if you put your pin in backwards you can still draw cash but the police will be notified. Obviously though this would be open to fraud as you could get a mate to stand behind you in a balclava and draw out all your cash and hand it to him then cry Robbery. Quids in!!
The only thing to do would be to hand the cash over then immediately report it o the police with an incident number and cctv footage the bank should in most circumstances refund your cash. But i wouldn't bet on it.

The way you've worded the question you wouldn't be able to call for assistance, because theres no one about you have no mobile and you can't communicate or fight back with the mugger. So you just have to stand there and get robbed??? maybe cash machines should be fitted with a panic button of some kind.

Some cash points are watched by CCTV. If that is connected to the local PO.Station, may be they would respond ? You cannot phone, you have no passers by and you are not tackling the person who robbed you.................. You could try and scream your loudest and someone round a corner might hear you............ a possibility he/she has a phone......

Nothing. The old bill are far too busy filling in paper work and processing speeding tickets to be anywhere near a cashpoint.
I will say, this isn't the fault of the police.

Oh..come on!! assistance??? it is easy.... just drive a car up to a cash point... you will get wardens and the police in seconds. Mind you, you will get a ticket for illegal parking. The robber will probably get your money as well. I am a 60 years old cynic!!!
