There were two types of agriculture in colonial times -- food crops and cash crops. Under food crops, grain was the most commonly planted (this includes corn, wheat, rye, barley) and in cash crops, depending on the climate, the most commonly planted were tobacco and cotton.

Look up exports from Ballymore.

In the south, cotton..rice...but in Maryland probably
more subsistence crops.

They would have planted heaps of crops to live of!!! (barley, fruit, vegetables, wheat) etc...
