If you think about it, is that truly more ethical than using the cells?
By the way, can you guess the political affiliations of the Supreme Court justices who gave the Roe vs. Wade verdict? Republicans!

As a person who majors in Biotechnology, I wish that we could use stem cells.....It was a big mistake by scientists who first came out with the idea of getting them from fetuses without thinking about how most people feel about abortions...Scientist tend to not think about people's feelings....only the "facts"

Back to your question...., the reason why Republicans (I think) do this is because they rather be "right" in people's eyes instead of saving people's lives (which stem cell research would do!)

I have an idea of science-I am actually doing a report on stem cell research now. The best way to extract stem cells is from the umbilical cord and bone marrow. Embryonic stem cells destroy embryos, although scientists are finding a way for that not to happen. I agree with the bury the dead statement. I dont care who the judges were, it was still wrong. Science is a key to pointing out with stem cells are to be extracted, as well as discouraging abortion. Embryologists agree that wen the 23 chromozomes of the male combine with that of the female, human life is formed. Destruction of innocent human life is unexcuseable.

Scientists are currently having trouble in using stem cells. The use of stem cells can actually cause a tumor and harm those who recieved the treatment. There is a long way to go for stem cell research. SO, legalizing embryonic stem cell research, adult and cord stem cell research is legal, wont exactly cause a miracle affect across the world.

Cause there has been more advances for adult stem cells, from sources like fat.

The whole thing can open up Pandora's box, if we run out of the already dead fetuses , then we move to aborted fetuses. Then there would be a market and women can start to become breeders just to have a abortion to harvest stem cells to make money.

By allowing aborted fetuses to be used in stem cell research, they would be condoning abortions which Republicans are against.

If those fetuses were allowed to be used in stem cell research, a black market could develop in which mothers are paid to abort their babies. If you think this is completely unreasonable, research the trade of human corpses. You wouldnt believe what sorts of sick things are going on.

Adult stem cells have just as much potential. The embryonic stem cells have the potential to be someone so why destroy that? I wish I could understand your way of thinking. I have diabetes and Alzhiemer's that runs in my family and I fear that I may also get either of these two diseases one day. But whatever happens it was gods decision and I would rather have another live in place of me. People have become selfish.

It is a religious thing with them and we have religious freedom in the USA
It would be nice if they got the same respect from you and the Godless as a Muslim that beheads an American for not converting to Islam
besides the fact they are mostly opposed to the gov funding the research not the act

How does not federally funding research amount to throwing away already dead fetuses? How do the liberals think these funds are raised? They would be taken from the Federal budget, shorting some other entitlement.

I think the question answered by Bush was not that we want them thrown away, but that we do not want our government paying for stem cell research. Do you see the difference?

Why do democrats want to slaughter a living human being within it's mothers womb? Aren't they just as precious as those who may benefit from embryonic stem cell research?

So many people could be helped and freed from a life of misery and pain, it is inconceivable to me, why Republicans have these
problems, I guess unless a person is stricken with Parkinson's in one of the high ranking Republican Politicians, there will be no change.
