I am six weeks pregnant. I have been getting some cramping for several weeks. My insurance didnt kick in yet so I went to the E.R. about three days ago. They examined me and said my cervix is completely closed and there was no blood so I had no sign of a miscarriage at all. The cramping was just my ligaments stretching. All of my blood work came back normal as well. The next day I noticed I had an achy lower back. It was kinda hard to sleep. last night I noticed when I wiped that there was a little pinkish reddish blood on the tissue. I thought it was just from the exam they gave me because sometimes that happens to me. This morning the bleeding turned brown and still very light. It wasnt enough to even touch my underwear. I only saw it when I wiped. I took a nap, elevated my feet, and I have been drinking a ton of water. Now the brown discharge is some what ''piecie'' and has tiny little brown clots. Every once in a while it has a larger brown clot. What is going on?

Since they found no sign of a miscarriag a couple days ago is it possible to have one now. This is my first pregnancy and I am scared. I personally decided not to go to the E.R. unless I am in seriouse pain and the bleeding gets heavy. They wouldn't be able to save the baby if I was having a miscarriage at this point so I wont sit there scared all night. I notice that when I lay in bed I wory and get upset. Should I just go out to dinner and watch a movie with my husband or stay at home and ''try'' to rest. God forbid I have a miscarriage but If you have any info please help me!!! Thank you!!!

It sounds like you're spotting, which is very normal for some women. Good for you for taking precautions though and if anything else develops you might want to go in again. My sister spotted like that all through a pregnancy and everything was fine, but it's always best to play it safe.

I do know that it is absolutely normal to have what seem to be light to moderate menstrual cramps all through your first trimester and some women say they never really seem to go away. I myself am 3 weeks pregnant and still have light cramping every now and again. However, you should not, by any means be having blood clotting while pregnant. I can't really say it means you are miscarrying, but I know that bleeding, much less having clotting is not something you should be experiencing during pregnancy. I am almost in the same situation as you about the doctor and I have to wait to be able to be seen so I too am constantly concerned. From what I know though, you need to go to a Planned Parenthood or something, they will see you without having insurance and in your case, for yours and your babies safety, I think you should immediately. I will keep you in my prayers, and keep your head up, it could be nothing at all, just don't risk it. Good luck girly!

I've heard from my doctor that a little pink or brown spotting is norman in pregnancy. I had some pink spotting on 11/19 (2 weeks ago) it stopped and then last week 11/25 I had brown spotting... Doctor said not to worry but the next day this brown became real blood. When we had an ultrasound he said the baby must have died 10 days ago (maybe the day of the first pink spotting). I was 10 weeks pregnant and on 11/14 we saw it's heart beating...
You really need to have an ultrasound but don't worry too much. I've heard from many women that they had some blood the day they expected to have their period.
Good luck!

This is what my OB told me when I got pregnant with my son: Whenever you are in the first month to 6 weeks of your pregnancy, having part of your normal period is very possible. Your uterine ligaments will start to stretch, and it does feel like menstrual cramps. Therefore, it is possible that you are just having a part of your period since you are in very early pregnancy. However, if these symptoms persist, I would go back to the doctor just for safety. It is always better to be safe than sorry.

Dear, go to the nearest casualty or doctor, I don't want to alarm you, but I was 11 weeks pregnant (last Friday) and STILL had ALL the pregnancy symptoms. All I had, light cramps and yellow discharge. I went at casualty dept., the doctor examined me and told me that everything is fine, but when the nurse performed the ultrasound, she gave us the shock of our lives , there was NO heartbeat of the baby. The baby had been dead inside me for 3 weeks. So the baby died at 8 weeks pregnant. When I took the ultrasound at 9 weeks pregnancy, the nurse didn't recognised that the baby was dead. It was hard for me to accept this miscarriage as normally you see blood, but I was told that I had SILENT ABORTION. It's cruel that you can know it afterwards !!!
I passed this horrible weekend at hospital. I was induced to give labour to my dead baby. I had painful contractions and a d&c. Now I pray God to give us courage to cope in this situation.
May God bless you and pray everyone NOT to ignore cramps !!! Don't take everything forgranted. Everyone used to tell me " Oh but cramps are common and harmless". You can see the result for yourself.

You should stay home, brown = old blood.. not new blood. It is very likely from that god awful transvaginal ultrasound wand that is like a light saber!

I've had two approx 6 week m/c and until you are passing red blood .. like a very heavy period I suggest you calm down, stay in and relax tonight with the husband and think good thoughts for your baby.

There is nothing the ER can do right now except cause you more stress.

Go back to the Dr IMMEDIATELY!!!

I had this happen to me at four months along and it was from the lining of the uterus tearing away from the uterine wall. I was put on bed rest for the rest of my preg. Since I was poor and couldn't stay in bed ALL the time, I lost the fetus at five months.

This could be happening to you.

OR it could be a case where you'll just have a "period" during your pregnancy. SOME women have had that happen with no ill affects at all.

But it's BEST to find out for SURE with the Dr. ;)

EDIT:

Hey, this is your FIRST preg. IF you miscarry, you can always get preg AGAIN!!! It just means that it's not 'your time' yet to have a baby. God knows BEST!!!

GOOD LUCK!

When I had a miscarriage, the blood was bright red and heavy. I think some discharge is normal, but I would go back to the doc asap and check out the brown blotches. Good luck

Call the hospital and ask to talk to a nurse. She'd let you know if you should go back in or not. Usually at 6 weeks there isn't much they can do to stop a miscarriage.

I think this might be a situation that only time will tell. It is possible that you are starting to miscarry, but many people spot and everything works out just fine. Try to take it easy and contact your doctor if you have any heavy bleeding.
