Could this be remedied by a garage that does alignments?

Yes, but you might save a bit of money and jack the car up, place it on jack stands, and rotate the front wheels. You will PROBABLY find that she now has a bent wheel. If it is the case, replace the wheel from a wrecking yard, or trade with a wheel from the rear and replace it later. Then have the alignment checked / adjusted.

Good Luck and Merry Christmas

She knocked or bent the steering alignment. Time to get a front end alignment.

Maybe. It could be a bent or damaged wheel, damaged tie rod, sub frame damage, suspension problem, steering gear problem. She definitely should not drive the car, for safety reasons, until it gets fixed.

No, she bent the rim. You likely need a new one.
