What would you expect an "ex-wife" to say after a 27 year marriage that I assume ended in divorce? "Oh, we had a wonderful marriage....all we could have hoped for!" No, she's bitter and angry, and sounds like she wanted to hurt you by saying that....just consider the source, and move on! Good Luck!!

Because she's angry. In going through the grieving process, people experience Anger, Denial, Bargaining, Depression and Acceptance. When people are angry, they say many hurtful things. She is not seeing the other good things that happened during the marriage. It takes time to work through the stages and have a civil relationship with an ex-spouse.

If she's your ex wife, I would assume you should have a pretty good idea. You know that something happened along the way, that ended the marriage. I don't know. Any cheating, hitting, ignoring, stonewalling, molesting, no working, no contributing, is she a lesbian? you didn't tell us what happened, so apparently she's mad at you. IF that's all she had to say, compared to other's you're in a good position.

Assuming this is your ex-wife, then you ought to know the answer to this question already. If you don't, then I guess you weren't very close with your wife, and that's why she calls it a "lousy" marriage.

It is the quality that matters, not the quantity. Obviously, she was unhappy during much of your marriage. You're divorced. Why do you care what she thinks?

Because it was?
It can't have been great, or it wouldn't be over....she obviously was missing something in the marriage!

because she has found someone else, and has rewritten the whole marriage in her mind, she doesn't want to remember any of the good in it, or the love she once felt for u. if she tells herself it was all bad. we do believe what we tell ourselves.

It's tough to say without hearing her side of it. Speculation on our part is just that, speculation, because we haven't got a clue what her thoughts were or are.
