There is always a chance of having a miscarriage. If you are an older woman your chances are increased then if you are a younger woman. The most common time to have a miscarriage is within the first three months. If you can survive these three months then more likely then not you will carry to full term. Congrats on the baby!!! Try not to stress too much about it.

The odds of a miscarriage before 12 weeks is something between 12% and 25%. And the older you get the greater the chances.
But do not worry yourself to death over it, there is nothing that can be done to prevent it and stress is not good for you or the baby.

RE:
What are the odds of a miscarriage?
I am three weeks pregnant and so excited! I have told my family and only two really really close friends because I have been told you can miscarry. Well, now I am so paranoid that I am going to lose the baby that it's driving me crazy! I know this sounds crazy, but now that I'm pregnant,...

It is pretty uncommon to miscarry, but if you do its for the best because miscarriage happens when your baby has so much damage that it won't live well, due to defects or mal-formation. It's OK. odds are you won't lose your baby.
Take prenatal vitamins, visit your doctor regularly, get exercise and take care of yourself emotionally and mentally. Don't take any prescription or over the counter medications or do any risky physical exercise. You'll be happy and healthy. Good luck to you.

1 in 4 pregnancies end in miscarriage. Most happen in the first trimester.

The odds are very much in favor of you carrying the baby to term. If you are in good health and have not been told that you have any problems, you should be just fine. Relax and enjoy this special time of preparing for your first baby. May God bless you and your precious little one.

How old are you? Usually your chances above 35 are higher, but if you are younger usually it doesn't. Just take care of yourself properly and don't get stressed out about it, because it will make the baby stressed too.
