A test on this showed you have to press the
butter to remove air from the bread.Which makes them heavier causing most to land butter side up.Most people skim the butter over.

50/50 - Murphys law says tho that when put to the test the theory fails ! BUT logic says that more should fall butter side down as it's heavier! try it and put it to the test yourself!

All of them because the buttered side will be convex causing it to turn over due to air resistance, the concave side is always the upper position.

In my experiments iv'e managed to get a 100% of my buttered toast to land butter-up!!!!................................

It is so simple , make sure you butter the correct side!!!!!
