Are you most proud of and why??

Mine is my nephew because he has overcome so much, he never complains even though he has a lot to complain about and he constantly proves everyone wrong..

I know a lot of you will say your children make you proud as mine do. But thats also a pride in yourself for raising them well. What about other people in your life that you wouldn't normally be automatically proud of, or have your children done something on their own that made you especially proud.

My niece, she is the most wonderful human being I know. She gets straight A's in school, she has tons of friends, she does drama and writes for the school paper. She is going to college to become a teacher and I know with her grades she could become a higher paying person, but it is what she wants. I love that she is 17 years old and is so put together, that anyone that meets her will say that. She has a sister that is 6 years old and she is just heck on wheels they are so opposite so I do not know what my sister did right the first time and not the second.

My Grandmother. She had cancer for 6 1/2 years before she died. She had it set in her mind that she was going to beat this and nothing was going to stop her. She beat it 3 times. The 4th time it came back, it stayed. She is my hero. I am so proud of her for her strength and determination. She never complained about anything. No matter how bad she was feeling, or how sick she had been, she always replied with "I'm fine!" when asked how she was. I love her and miss her terribly.

My Mum.
She came her in the early '60's not speaking any English and met my Dad, their first child, my brother, died when he was 2 from Pneumonia. My dad died in 1978 when my Sister and I were 12 and 9 respectively, my Mum was then diagnosed with cancer in 1988.
She died in February last year having led a very full and active life and giving my sister and I a respectable inheritance.

It would have been very easy for her to lie down and feel sorry for herself but she fought to provide for her family.

I'm proud of my best friend. He's grown a lot in the time that I've known him, and in turn, his advice and conversation has helped me to grow. He's a very selfless and patient person, and I'm proud of him for sticking to what he believes in and being himself, always.

My Mother. She has overcome so many things this year. My Father became sick last October and spent 7 months in the Hospital until he died in May. She has been able to keep us (the family) together and console us through this.

My best friend. She has had depression for the past couple of years but she's gradually getting over it. There are times when I could have strangled her, out of frustration but I know that's not really her - it's the disease. But she's lived through it and I feel priveleged to know her.
