If you can check both sides of the fuse with a volt meter or a probe to ensure it has 12 volts.

If thats good, reach behind the lighter and there are always these cheap clips that connect the wires to the posts on the back of the socket. If that makes sense...I have seen them pop off on their own especially in cars when the lighter is in a tray that can fold away.

If thats ok, check with the meter or probe right at the lighter and see if you have 12v...if you do, whatever you are plugging in may be bad or have a bad fuse.

Good luck!!

If you have a meter set it for ''12 volts dc'' place the black probe to a metal ''ground'' and insert the red probe straight into the lighter socket, if you look into the socket first with a flashlight you will see a metal contact all the way at the bottom, that's your target. If you read 12 volts your lighter is defective. If you don't read 12 volts recheck your fuse.

It might just be the age. Just bring a regular lighter.
