I have everything ready to go Thanksgiving night! Inside and out..... Didn't use too because it always seemed too early and I wanted the kids to really believe and they thought Santa did it all!. Now that I am older Christmas goes too quicklty.....so I want it to last as long as possible.

Well, I think right now is too early no matter whether you use real or fake. I don't think you should set up a fake tree earlier than Dec 12. Now a real tree, you may want to wait a little longer. It also depends if you are having a party. If you normally have a party that combines, say Christmas/Hanukkah/Kwansa then set it up before your party. Normally, I set it up anywhere between a week to 10 days before because I leave it up till the day after little Christmas (Jan 6).

We always go to Tahoe for Thanksgiving, so we always set up our Christmas Tree and Decorations early. I am really into the Holiday so it takes me awhile to set up. However, I like to put out most of my Christmas presents on Christmas eve. That way even though I am older Santa still comes every year!!

My family always set up the tree the day after my mothers B-day, Dec.16th, Now that I'm married my husband doesn't like to but up decorations till late in the month & he doesn't want them outside or near windows so only he can enjoy them. I know I think he's crazy.

I take the week after thanksgiving as vacation every year so we can set up trains, tree & trimmings. Also shopping on the day after thanksgiving is a jump starter for me too, all them bargins.
....
Then when they have the tree lighting at Rockefeller Center we watch the fun & light our tree the same time they turn on there lights.

Yes we have set ours up and decorated. We only get a month to enjoy the decorations and lights so I try to do it as soon as possible after Thanksgiving.

I start after Thanksgiving and I just finished today. I do the outside first. I have 3 trees inside and a little village I do each year. One of my trees hangs on the wall in my kitchen.
