I tried charcoal , pure vanilla extract , white vinagar to get the horrific smell of moth balls from my attic when a rodent died and couldn't find it.
Our clothing is getting the stench now and I'm dreading to go to work smelling horrible.
Someone PLEASE help !
Need more ideas, can't take it anymore ! ! ! !
How long will the smell linger ?
I filled half a shoe box with charcoal and left it in the attic.Should I make more charcoal boxes in the attic ?

I have spread four large boxes of baking soda in the attic.
I have scented candles burning all day.
I have sprayed white vinagar and water twice a day in the attic.
Should I start to pick up all the moth balls that I spead out ?

Most of the items you have tried will only mask the odor. To really remove it, you will need a cleaner designed for biological cleanup. That type of cleaner will actually breakdown any biological matter using enzymes. Good Luck!

Well ,without any further description of the odor I can only guess that your attic smells like everyone elses...like a hot and dry basement!I'm sure you've detected that each home has it's own particular scent since we all have different lifestyles, furniture, cleaning products,carpeting,etc.etc.All attics on the otherhand, quite often are unfinished and are made up of wood, insulation, wires, and boxes of who knows what. This is one part of the house not usually heated nor occupied and temperatures can easily swing low to high throughout the year.Since attics rarely get a good vacumming they are also dusty.
I too have an attic fan but must confess I have attic odor as well.If I understand your layout, you can walk into yours.I need to acess mine by way of a 4'step ladder which normally is only at Christmas time.I associate my smelly attic with Christmas.Anyway,if you're trying to freshen it up a bit,you could try cedar shavings, lisol, frabrezze, air fresheners.or something else with a different odor.Good Luck!

There are bio based smell destroyers that do more than cover the smell, they deactivate it. Try a cleaning supply store or a do it your self exterminator outlet. They should be able to point you in the right direction.

Go to the dry cleaners. Or Put your clothes in the dryer with a large quantity of dryer sheets.

Maybe you should try disinfecting your attic with baking soda.

Perfumed/scented candles, but don't set your house on fire.
