Your 40 weeks pregnant, there isn't a lot of room to move in there. Trust in you ob doc, if he/she said everything is o.k. it is.

If this is an issue or something you have on your mind I would call your doctor's office ask why you can't feel the baby moving. I had a friend that was pregnant and she came to my door telling me the same thing. So I took her to our local hospital to get checked, the hospital did an ultra sound and everything was fine. the doctor told my friend the reason she could not feel the baby moving was because the baby was position more toward her back.

There could be a lot of different reasons.. You may not be eating enough and that is why he is not reactive. Also, you may be getting closer to labor. Babies tend to slow down or stop moving right before labor begins to "save" up their energy. If you have not felt him at all move even doing "kick" counts..(drink some cold juice and lay down and relax-should get 6-10 movements in an hour) you should contact your doctor immediately so they can bring you in to check the baby out. I had this happen to me this week. Turns out he was fine... But still it's always safer to check things out.

Babies do tend to move less at this stage as they have barely any room, I would make an urgent appointment with your midwife if you are worried although if you had a scan yesterday and that was ok the things are probably fine.

Good luck with the birth ( I am 36 weeks so not far behind you)

I am also 40 weeks and the same is happening to me. My doc says that there is no room left to move and the head is trying to engage so thay stay in one position longer than they used to. My doc says to give him a little jiggle every 5 hours or so and you should feel a slight move back. Its hard to feel but usually works. Only if you feel NO movement for 10 hours should you be concerned! Good luck hopfully we deliver soon!

There is less room for him to move. But you should buy a stethascope and every so often listen for the baby. As long as the Doc said everythign is fine, ther eis nothing to worry about. You can buy a stethascope at a medical supply store. Conrats.

Not a whole lot of room for him to move at 40 weeks. The ultrasound was fine, it'll all be okay. Good luck!

It's just because the baby is ready to come out. It is so tight in your belly right now that there is really no more room to move around. Your baby will be here VERY soon! Good Luck Mommy!

my 2nd son stopped moving at 32 weeks every week I had to go for a NSt test (they monitor the baby's movement) My son was born fine. Maybe you child is just getting ready to get in position to be born. Good Luck and rest.

At the very last days of pregnancy this can be common because there is little room; I would call your doctor to be sure though. They may want you to go in check things out. Just to be sure
