i have had a bt home hub for 6 months now,i previously had a voyager 205,and with both these as well as all modem/routers you should leave them on night and day
the idea of the new home hub is to be the center of your multi-media world, with broadband, internet phone and bt vision television, and also the hub updates itself while your p.c is switched off
so leave the home hub on,it wont damage it,its been designed to be kept on
the only time you need to turn it off is when your download speed drops,if this happens, switch off from the plug, then leave the hub for 45 seconds, then switch it back on,and at the back of the hub there is a "wireless association" button, press and hold this for 15 to 20 seconds, then you will see all the lights on the hub go out and reappear over the course of 2 minutes, once all the lights are back on,you can use the internet again, you will notice a improvement in your download speeds, and your surfing speeds
however after a "cold boot" as i call the above method you will need to set up the bt internet phone configuration again, just click the icon on your desktop
the bt home hub will get warm, especially if you have a few pc,s running off it ,but again its designed for up to ten devices and a phone so you shouldnt worry, anyway if it does malfunction bt will supply you with a new hub as this is part of the aggrement with options 1,2 and 3
any problems with your hub,let me know
good luck

hi, i have lately had the same challenge which change into solved with the aid of fixing the channel to 10 (with the aid of bthomehub.living house on your browser). It also facilitates to make certain both the on the spot and the hub are utilising the same password format. also attempt placing the computer with a static IP with the help of the stronger settings contained in the hub administration panel at the same time as it is correct; Settings > stronger (ok) > contraptions ... ...lower than 'on the spot connections' click your computer and decide 'convinced' to consistently use this IP manage. wish this facilitates.

It will be fine if left on all the time, however depending on where you live (The woods or an apartment) someone could be using your wireless while you are not there.

Leave it on. They do run rather warm but components will deteriorate faster switching them on and off.
