Every one makes mistakes. Thinking positive has no effect on whether you make them or not. The point is to LEARN from those mistakes.
If all you see are positive results to your every decision, then you must not believe you EVER MAKE ANY mistakes. A person like this will end up in some kind of serious trouble.
Recognizing both the positive and negative sides to our decisions is part of gaining experience and learning about life. It's neither all good or all bad.
Also, seeing the negative side IS what leads to regret, and, likely, to not making the same (or similar) bad choice/mistake in the future.
You can't avoid making mistakes - NO MATTER WHAT YOU DO.

We all should take the middle way, a compromise between two opposite extremes; being purely optimistic and being solely pessimistic. We should consider both the positive and negative aspects of a situation; the greater the situation, the more consideration we should take. Recognizing only the good aspects will probably drive us to do things without consideration or second thought, a.k.a. looking before you leap. But hesitation and being reluctant would cease to exist. Recognizing only the bad aspects will probably result in everyone doing nothing at all, not willing to do anything because of their fear that it may all go horribly wrong (Frankenstein's monster for example). But being outgoing and straightforward would no longer be a factor. So, we come to a compromise: recognizing both sides and thus increasing the possibility of success and achievement. Unfortunately, we fail to look at both sides of a situation all too often.

Making a mistake is not a mistake but repeating a mistake is a very big mistake. Focus on the positive side always so as not to regret anything. But this we cannot avoid.

Always think positive. Be prepared for, but don't dwell upon, the negative. People who think positive don't really see failure as failure. They see it as a challenge. People who think negative will never be happy. They will never see victory even when they find it.

To err is human. Always be sure that you definitely feel you have done your best. No one can ask more of you than this.
