What do think of him calling his girlfriend the wrong name it seems that next year he will not have a girlfriend to not remember the name of!

I can't believe he did that! He's not exactly a scholar to start out with... in fact the only thing he has going for him is that he is the teammate of Jimmie Johnson and Jeff Gordon.
I think that he had a lapse in memory, he was just talking about his brother Kurt, and of course when he thinks of his brother his brain automatically brought up the thing that has the most reference to his brother (Eva; Kurt's wife), and his mouth accidentally spat out the wrong thing.
Idiot.

I am married now but when I had girlfriends depending on what you have going on in your mind or how knew the relationship is I think that calling his girlfriend may not score him brownie points but it is a common mistake.
