I think that they have done away with the CSA now and are in the process of sorting a better system.
Its unfortunate that people like yourselves go without but I'm sure once this new system comes into play something will get sorted.
For now just keep doing the fantastic job i'm sure your doing.

I have a friend who's son is now 10 years old, and she still has not seen a cent. They had the DNA test and gave her a court order, but he disappeared and wont get a job, or if he gets a job he doesn't keep it long enough for her to get anything. If he ever does start working you will get your money even if it is way after you son is 18. I have a coworker that is getting child support from her dad and she is 27 years old (her mom gives the check to her when she receives it). You may never get anything because some men are just sorry enough to go their entire life without working, but no matter what don't stop trying.

Well if they have DNA proof that he is the father however you are unable to locate him you should be able to make application for a retroactive child support order and ask that they either dispense with service and/or allow alternate service, like registered mail to his last known address (you will have to provide proof that attempts have been made to locate him and that you cannot find him or that he is evading service).
Once you have obtained this order you should be able to have his wages and income tax refund or assistance payments or other things garnished.
I would point out though that income assistance will likely make a claim against the money you are entitled to for the assistance payments you received.

Maybe never. If he can figure out how to get around it, you'll probably never see a cent. On my son's 18th birthday, the dad went out and got a real job because he didn't know he would owe the back child support. If not for that, I'd never have seen a cent and you can't count on your ex being as dumb as mine was. Sorry, but you'll have to chalk it up to choosing a bad mate, as so many of us did.
Just try the best you can to support your son without EVER badmouthing the dad. You will only make yourself look like a harpie and mess up your kid.

The CSA are a joke, I applied to them 3 years ago and have still not received a penny despite them knowing his address and work details, I gave up in the end.

I don't know what country you are from, but in the USA, they garnish wages and take tax refunds to help pay it. It seems that you need to take a another look and bug them about it. I hate DeadBeats!
