I'm not sure because comic books can be reprinted. They're not all hand drawn. Plus, I doubt he was the only artist.

Right now Giant size X-men number 1 is still around 10 grand if the price has gone up I don't think any one has heard anything on that. yet.
I not sure any is gonna want to buy it if it went any higher. but it depends on ho much a certain some wants that issue. and yest it'll go high if his signature is on it. but that's not likly now is it? BTW the later quest is retorical. ;) as if you couldn't tell.

comic value is dependant on what someone is willing to pay for it
if the comic guide says the approx value is $10 and no one would pay that guess it's not really worth $10, if some one or everyone out there is only willling to pay cover price for that issue its only worth cover,.
Bag, board and box maybe one day it may be worth something

no... the passing of a creator/artist/writer has little or no affect on value... might spark a brief interest in some people who hadnt thought about it in awhile, but that would fade in no time...
