I am looking for an external hard drive that will accept a laptop hard drive insead of a desk top one. I have a good laptop harddrive and would like some info of it then use it as a back up. is there any kind of conection I could purchase, say hard drive to usb port.

yes there is, Ive purchased many external harddrives that connect trhough USB. You can go to target or any other tech/misc store they will help you out
