My pick would be Final Fantasy. I've never played any Final Fantasy game but I've played the Pokemon ones and those are TOO repetitive.

It depends. I like Final Fantasy AND Pokemon. But, Final Fantasy only came out on the ds, and was never before released in the states. If you are a DIEHARD pokemon fan, get this, otherwise wait 4 months for the remade version of the game.

I'd recommend final Fantasy III first. Especially if you're a fan of the series and RPG games.
For Pokemon, which game do you mean? Pokemon dungeon blue, emerald or Ranger? Emerald is an expansion on Ruby/Sapphire and has several jhoto and some kanto pokemon. Dungeon has mixed reviews.
