I don't know what you and your friwnds would be in the mood for...however check out www.opentable.com and search for reservations on December 24. Look for something that sounds good and in your price range, then you can look at reviews to see what others think. Good luch and happy holidays

I have no idea if these are open or not, but I like:
Turkish - A la Turca
Korean BBQ - Hahn's
Pakistani/Indian - Naan n Curry
Thai - Basil
I'd guess they're all going to be open on New Year's, but I'd definitely call first.
