My little sister had her leg amputated when she was three years old. I understand what you are going through as it was very scary for me to even look at her without crying at first. We eventually got used to it, and she learned to walk with a prosthetic leg. You can't even tell now, if she's wearing long pants, that her left leg is missing because she walks so smoothly with the prosthetic. This is the kind of thing that's going to test your love a little. Remember, if it's difficult for you, think of how difficult it must be for him!! The best things you can do are: 1. talk about how this is AND how it isn't going to affect your relationship, and 2. face your fear of his 'stump' (and that is the medical term for it) by helping him to dress the wound. There will be lots of antibiotic creams and things to apply in the coming weeks. I promise you it will become normal again and don't be surprised if this makes your bond even stronger.
God Bless.

The same way you did before. Try not to disable him. Give him the moral support and time to adjust to this situation. It is new to him as well and he will have some problems on his own. A good idea is to get into a support group and you may go your self.
Talking about it is the solution to everything and making assumptions about a situation is a killer.
Sometimes by trying to help to much we hurt the people we love most. Your fiancee has to deal with it more than you think. The mental adjustment is far more stressful than we can imagine. May God give you the strength to support him and you through this process.

So, you are pretty much saying that you can't love him anymore because he lost a leg. Get over yourself! He is still the same person, and once fitted with a prosthesis, he will be able to do everything he did before. However, If you are so superficial s to think he is different now, I suggest you break up with him now before you do him some serious damage.

This sn't you? then be supportive, and stick with him during rehab and realize that the person you love is going through a hard time. he probably feels that you won't love him anymore, so you have to be extra encouraging. Go ahead with wedding plans and make sure that you are part of his rehab sand physio. Believe me, he will tell you if sex hurts his stump and will suggest other positions.
