Hi - I want to make a Christmas CD full of songs that aren't "the classics". I'm looking for Christmas songs written in the last 25 years, and also for versions of songs other than by the artists that made them popular. Nothing is too far out there - I'm looking for ALL kinds.
Thanks in advance!

if you don't have any of these songs, you can listen to them by going to www.dogpile.com, typing in the song title and artist, and then seeing which search results come up. Look at the length of the songs that show up. Right click and " save target as..." on the search results that are longer than 30 second samples. if it doesn't work, keep trying all the other search results, and at least one of them should work ;]
for example, here is a link to Travis' Last Christmas
http://www.dogpile.com/info.dogpl/search/audio/travis%252Blast%252Bchristmas/1/20/1/-/1/-/1/1/1/1/-/-/-/on12%25253A1165091235412/-/-/-/-/-/-/-/-/-/-/-/-/-/-/-/-/-/-/-/-/-/-/-/-/-/-/-/-/-/-/-/-/-/-/-/-/-/0/281/top/moderate/-/0
(right click and "save target as..." on search result 1.)

Sarah McLachlan also has a brand new christmas CD out called "wintersong" where she some originals and also covers many famous christmas songs, including John Lennon's classic "Happy Xmas"

you could also try any of the "now that's what I call Christmas!" compilations =)
