Fashion is a vehicle for identity because of the meaning that is given to the articles of clothing. Each piece of clothing is a reflection of the consumer. Though the pieces are not original and most of the time mass produced by a designer, the free will to purchase the piece is just a function of uniformity to social codes to be clothed. Yet fashion goes against conformity when it speaks in a non verbal way or frames you the way you want it to be.

Fashion is an art form. I love fashion, I watch the cat walk shows in the same way an art lover would go to a gallery. I analyse it, study it and and ultimately show my respect and enjoyment of somebody elses creation by incorporating their ideas into my own style. I'm not a sheep, I just appreciate the beauty in a good outfit!

Especially since there hasn't been an original idea in the fashion world in years. They just regurgitate fashions from by gone days. That, or wrap a bed sheet around someone famous, secure it with a pin and call it a dress.
Yeah, lets all rush out for that.

I so totally agree. Same with surgery and hairstyles... everyone is starting to look the same. Thin lips have been wiped off the face of the planet and makeup to slim noses has made everyone seem to look the same.

I like fashion, its the only thing that makes me feel good about myself, is buying a nice top or new shoes.
