My girlfriend told me she likes silver better than gold, but looking at the particular piece of jewelry that I would like to buy, all the white gold stuff seems much nicer than the silver and almost the same color. I'm worried, though, that they're not really the same color or style. Help please!

Go for the white gold. I was a silver girl myself until I found out there was a such thing as white gold. Plus it'll hold up better than silver, and yes it does look much nicer. Silver you have to worry about it tarnishing, I mean this happens with white gold as well but it seems not as easily. My wedding rings are white gold and my husband polishes them probably 2-3 times a year. I think if they were silver he'd be doing it more often.
Unless she is allergic to the white gold, which you should probably find out, just go for it. In my case it was the color of yellow gold that I didn't like. Perhaps she's the same way?

it depends on what she wants. I prefer white gold and silver to yellow gold; however, there are a lot more options with silver than with white gold. find out what kind of jewelry she wants, and go from there; in the end, it'll probably be the style and thought more than whether it's silver or white gold. by the way, there's tons of silver cleaner you can get that all you have to do is dip the item in the liquid for 10 seconds and rinse it off. and whatever you do, DON'T buy silver and tell her it's something else. why lie?

White gold is soooo much better than silver. Think about it, gold is worth more than silver, and white gold is basically the same as silver. You can't tell the difference between the two unless you look really close. Get the White gold, you won't regret it.

I am one who prefers silver to yellow, and white gold is very nice, and usually worth more. But you might ask your girlfriend why she doesn't like gold. There are people with a gold allergy, and that may be another reason she prefers silver. :)

I perfer silver to gold also but I think that white gold would be okay to...it is almost the same color as silver...and it is has more value.

White gold is much nicer then silver, as it will never go black. Silver can and will discolour, even Sterling silver. Go with the white gold.

I would say yes- like you say, white gold is actually better quality than silver. She probably just specified that she prefers silver because, when you think of gold, it's of that trashy yellow kind.
